Haul Truck Operator (Corporate Training)
Admission and Administration Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalency (official transcripts only); or
  • Mature students who do not meet the educational requirements may be accepted on an individual basis – based on completion of the Canadian Adult Skills Assessment;
  • Current Driver’s Abstract;
  • Photocopy of Driver’s license (valid, unrestricted Class 5 or equivalent);
  • Current resume.

The Haul Truck Operator program will prepare students for entry-level haul truck operator positions with CFI’s construction and open pit mine operations at the St. Lawrence Fluorspar Project (part-time and full-time employment).

It is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to operate a haul truck efficiently and safely, based on industry operating procedures and the manufacturer’s recommendations.

The program structure consists of instructor guided and computer based instruction.  The practical component is taught using Komatsu HD605-7 and Komatsu HM400-5 Haul Truck Simulators.  This training will allow students to receive continuous feedback on performance and simulate exercises, emergency situations and responses in a safe and controlled environment.
