| Dental Assisting II |
| Program Description: |
Dental Assisting Level II is designed to deliver comprehensive training in the roles and responsibilities of the dental
assistant in a modern dental practice. Our curriculum and fully operational dental clinic under the supervision of
a dentist allows students the opportunity to study all aspects of the dental practice including practice
management, chairside assisting, sterilization, and direct patient care. The curriculum covers all materials and
skills necessary to write the National Dental Assisting Examination and prepare graduates for all mandatory and
option skills listed by The Commission on Dental Accreditation to meet the training requirements for the national
scope of practice.

| Early Childhood Education provides students with the qualifications and methods necessary to present a wide variety of activities to develop a young child’s imaginative, creative and artistic abilities. This program will provide an overview of the field of early childhood education, its
historical and theoretical origins, and the day-to-day work and responsibilities of professionals working in this field. Students will learn to identify the critical issues related
to children’s health, safety and nutrition. In addition the program will aim to promote safety practices, risk management, strategies for nutritional balance, and overall good health and well being. |

| Esthetics |
| Program Description: |
The industry of esthetics is dynamic and constantly growing. Today, people are placing more importance on
attractiveness of their skin, nails, and entire body. Through the Esthetics Program students will learn essential skill
such as manicures/pedicures, hair removal and sterilization and sanitation techniques that are required of
preferred employees in the esthetics field. The Esthetics Program will prepare graduates for immediate
employment in the personal care industry.

| Funeral Director and Embalmer |
| Program Description: |
The Funeral Director and Embalmer program provides the hands on training and theoretical understanding funeral directors require assisting bereaved families in making funeral arrangements. Embalmers protect the public health by properly caring for the deceased. As well, it is a unique blend of general educational and
technical courses in the areas of biological and social sciences and restorative art.
The Batesville Casket Company in support of Keyin's Funeral Director and Embalmer program is pleased to award a $750 bursary to one student from each graduating class of this program. | Pharmacy Technician |
| Program Description: |
This program will prepare you to be employed as a pharmacy technician in community and hospital
pharmacies. You will gain knowledge relevant to the technical and clerical aspects of the pharmacy profession,
including inventory management, pharmacy software, and third party billing. Throughout the program
interpersonal communication is stressed and evaluated along with other skills in extensive on site laboratory
sessions and during the workplace practicum.

| Therapeutic Recreation is a growing career field that will give graduates the opportunity to become part of a health service delivery system that addresses the needs of individuals with various disabilities, illnesses and special needs. This 88-week program will focus on leisure and recreation as essential
components of an individual’s overall health and wellness. As Recreation Therapy workers, graduates will assist clients with leisure and recreational opportunities in ways that contribute to clients’ health, independence, and well-being. |

| Personal Care Attendant/Home Support Worker |
| Program Description: |
Keyin's 20-week Personal Care Attendant/Home Support Worker program follows the provincial curriculum standards for training of Home Support Workers in Community Settings & Personal Care Attendants in Nursing Home Settings.
The purpose of these NEW provincial standards is to ensure that support workers are prepared to deliver appropriate care assistance and support services in either setting. Through the use of classroom, laboratory and supervised field
placements in the client’s home and nursing homes, the program will educate and equip graduates with the necessary skills to deliver appropriate, timely, and respectful client-focused care to the elderly, persons with disabilities or those recovering from illnesses or injuries and their families. In community settings, support workers will provide personal care, light housekeeping, meal assistance and other support
services as determined by the employing agency. |

Keyin College is proud to offer the Occupational Health and Safety diploma program in Newfoundland and Labrador. This program was developed in response to the growing demand for well-trained individuals in the area of health and safety for safer worksites, stronger safety co-ordination and sound safety planning.
Keyin College is pleased to offer an Occupational Health and Safety program with the curriculum approved by the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals. In addition, Keyin College Grand Falls-Windsor campus is also pleased to be included in the Canadian Federal Government's Approved
CO-OP/Internship Programs.

Are you organized, meticulous and enjoy working at a computer? If so, you may be suited for a career in medical transcription. You can prepare for this career with Keyin's Medical Transcriptionist program. You will get to put theory into practice, which can prepare you for entry-level positions in medical offices, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and much more.
Our program includes focused training in three
basic skill requirements - keyboarding, grammar
and punctuation, and medical terminology. Most
importantly, our course will provide the student
with extensive “hands-on” practice to give them
the experience they need to help them get hired.

| A Child and Youth Care Worker is a specialist in facilitating change in children or adolescents experiencing a range of social, emotional, behavioural, or learning challenges. Keyin’s 72-week Child and Youth Care Worker program develops therapeutic skills and abilities in students, enabling them to work creatively with other professionals concerned with the care and treatment of children and adolescents to address such challenges. Graduates are involved in all facets of care from assessment to intake, goal formulation, program planning and intervention. Child and Youth Workers facilitate change through counselling and a variety of treatment strategies. |
